The Teachers

The team of teachers, all of whom are former students, work in a collegial way as Jacques Lecoq wished. They divide their schedule between the classes they give in the school and their commitment to the theatre world, as an actor, director or playwright. This enables them to stay in touch with contemporary theatre and nourish their teaching ideas and share them with the students.

After a degree in physical education and sport adapted for the handicapped at UFR‐STAPS in Lyon and a theatrical training with the Macocco‐Lardenois Compagny, she studied at the Ecole Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq between 2002-2004 and the teacher-training year in 2007. She has been teaching at the Ecole Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq since 2011.

Moreover Anne Astolfe has taught at the National Circus School of Rosny–sous-Bois from 2008 to 2012 and at the Drama school of Champigny-sur-Marne for 10 years.

As a stage director she founded in 2009 « LE LAABO », laboratory of research around movement and play, based on writing in a workshop situation. The result of this research was the first drama of « LE LABOO » created in 2012 : « HOLD ON » – which was the favourite play of the OFF Avignon Festival according to « LE MASQUE ET LA PLUME » (France Inter radio). This play is currently on tour.

In 2015 Anne set up the 2nd play of the (EX) LIMEN Company. This play was performed at the FERME DU BUISSON (National Theatre of Marne la Vallée) during the Festival « LES ENFANTS DU DÉSORDRE ».

In 2016, Anne collaborates with the label - living theatre ATLAST- and she is going to direct « LE CIRCAETE », a drama inspired by the comic strip of Manu Larcenet : PRESQUE. This play will be performed in April 2017 during the PULP Festival at the FERME DU BUISSON.

For the coming 2016-2017 season the LAABO will also be associated with the THÉÂTRE DE CHÂTILLON, thus inviting its public all through the season around its latest project : RUSH.
